Miranda Kerr shares her beauty secrets

In conversation with Miranda Kerr for David Jones, on how to take care of your skin like a super model.

KATHRYN CARTER: Tell us about your KORA Organics philosophy?
MIRANDA KERR: KORA Organics was born when I was looking for a healthier approach to my skincare regime, I was unable to find anything that delivered results so I created my own line. KORA Organics products are certified organic and natural in accordance with COSMOS, a global certifying agency that follows strict organic guidelines and regulations around ingredients and the manufacturing process. Having my products certified was important to me so you know exactly what you’re putting on your skin…because what you put on your skin soaks directly into your
bloodstream!

I [also] wanted to create something that was more than just skincare. [So] I drew from my personal experience, passion and studies in the wellness arena, and from my belief that the health of our skin is not just connected to the products we use. There are many other factors at play such as the food we eat and keeping a positive mindset.

KC: Name three things every woman should have in her bathroom vanity?
MK: Our KORA Organics Noni Glow Face Oil – a multi-purpose treatment oil suitable for all skin types, containing high levels of antioxidants, essential fatty acids and vitamins and minerals to smooth, nourish and brighten the skin. It’s transformative, anti-ageing, super hydrating and also reparative - helping turn back time! I use it religiously each night.

Tweezers – I’m obsessed with well-groomed brows as they frame the face.

A tongue scraper – another of my obsessions is dental hygiene! This helps remove toxins and bacteria from the tongue and enhances your sense of taste.

KC: Your skin always looks so flawless, what does your daily skincare routine involve?
MK: I use all KORA Organics products, but swap them around depending on what my skin needs, and environmental factors such as the weather or exposure to air conditioning and pressurised cabins when flying. 

At the moment, in the morning I use the KORA Organics Foaming Cleanser, Energizing Citrus Mist, and Hydrating Moisturizer with a few drops of the Noni Glow Face Oil for a luminous glow – this is a wonderful multipurpose product that is both super hydrating and anti-aging. I use our mists as a toner and then also throughout the day to keep my skin hydrated – I also love their aromatherapy benefits!

KC: Your special ingredient “Noni” is derived from the Noni Fruit; a super food used for healing the body both inside and out. Can you tell us more about this powerful ingredient?
MK: Noni is a super food that is high in antioxidants, containing over 100 vitamins and minerals, including high amounts of vitamins A and C. These powerful antioxidants protect your skin from environmental damage caused by free radicals, which can place stress on our skin and lead to the signs of premature ageing. Noni is anti-ageing, anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory and can also helps to enhance immune performance. For all those reasons and because of my first-hand experience with Noni, I made it the unique key ingredient used in all my products.

KC: Face oils are becoming more and more popular, with many discovering the benefits of their
nourishing properties. What sets your new Noni Glow Face Oil apart from all the rest?
MK: Our special formulation contains the highest quality, highest performance certified
organic ingredients; we source our ingredients from all over the world to ensure we’re
getting the very best. The Noni Glow Face Oil is a super nourishing treatment oil that is
great for all skin types and especially good for sensitive skin. 

Certified Organic Noni Extract, Rosehip Oil, Pomegranate Oil and Sea Buckthorn Oil combine to
create a rich source of antioxidants and essential fatty acids to smooth, nourish, hydrate
and brighten your skin. 

KC: All KORA products are energised with Rose Quartz, a crystal believed to carry a soothing energy to encourage love and acceptance of the self and of others. What inspired this idea?
MK: I’ve used crystals for many years, I’m a big believer in their transformative power and energy they carry. It’s something that works for me, so I wanted to share it with our customers in the hope they would benefit too. [So] I added the unique vibrations of Rose Quartz crystal to all products – this special crystal carries a soothing energy to encourage love and acceptance of ourselves and others. During the manufacturing process, all products are filtered and energised through these crystals, so the vibration of self-love flows through them, into the products and onto our customers.

KC: If you had to give a woman one piece of skincare advice, what would it be?
MK: Think of skincare as food for the skin, so read the ingredients to know exactly what you’re putting on your skin and/or on your children’s skin, because what you use enters your bloodstream and it may not be safe; especially for prolonged use.
